About Compound

Compound writes about personal finance and investing the way a good explainer should read: plainly, with the numbers shown rather than implied, and without a product to sell you at the end of the article. Every piece starts from a question a reasonably curious reader might actually have — “how much should I keep in cash,” not “seven secrets your advisor won't tell you.”

We publish weekly across five subjects — markets, personal finance, equity, mutual funds and tax — and we'd rather run fewer, longer pieces than chase the news cycle. If a topic hasn't changed since last year, we don't pretend it has.
